Most researchers are familiar with the fundamentals of how to conduct research, and there are plenty of articles across the internet sharing various techniques, tips and insights. However, within the fundamentals of common UXR practice, we often overlook the most crucial type of question: “Why.” Why does a specific user behavior exist? Why do users prefer this over that? Why are we designing this function? Why should we initiate a research study?
